2011 – Northeast Biomedical founded by Timothy Looney
2012 – Moved into M2D2, then relocated to Tyngsboro. Hired first employeesThe first employees were hired, including Eric Weber and Barry O’Donoghue, both of whom are considered founders because of the depth and expertise they brought to the team.
2013 – Established instrumentation and robotics development lab. Acquired our first 3D printer to accelerate prototyping.
2014 – Began supporting international clients and lunched catheter and disposable medical device development capabilities
2015 – Development team grows to seven members
2017 – Outfitted our model shop with CNC lathe and milling machine
2018 – Set project revenue record with 27 new project starts
2019 – Began formal ISO 13485:2016 certification process
2020 – Achieved ISO 13485:2016 certification via DEKRA
2021 – Completed first major expansion: added manufacturing, R&D, conference, and office space. Become an M2D2 sponsor
2022 – Second expansion completed; team grows to 18 employees. Added dedicated leadership in operations, business development, and R&D to support scaling clients and project complexity.
2023 – Third expansion adds manufacturing and cleanroom space. Expanded automation capabilities by becoming a Universal Robot integrator, enhancing NEB's custom robotic and automation system offerings.
2024 – Added additional clean room manufacturing space to increase our ability to meet clinical build needs.
2025 – Continued growth through team expansion and new service offerings. Reached 100 unique client engagements expanded client base across startups, OEMs, and international teams, showcasing NEB’s range and reputation.
