Custom Solutions & Specialized Builds
While Northeast Biomedical is primarily a full-service product development company, we also offer custom, one-off, and low-volume production services to meet the specific needs of our clients. Whether you're developing a device for internal R&D use, preparing a niche product for limited market release, or addressing an unmet clinical challenge, our team can help bring your concept to life—quickly, reliably, and with precision.
We specialize in transforming unique requirements into functional, well-engineered solutions, supporting everything from early concept development to fully assembled systems for clinical, research, or demonstration purposes.
In addition to medical device development, NEB designs and manufactures custom laboratory and production equipment—including automation tools, test fixtures, and scalable pilot systems. Each build is tailored to your technical goals, regulatory constraints, and workflow environment. With in-house design, prototyping, and manufacturing capabilities, we deliver turnkey, high-performance solutions that are ready to deploy.
From concept to construction, Northeast Biomedical is your partner for specialized devices and systems that require focused expertise, flexibility, and rapid execution.
Disposable Medical Device Projects
NEB has contributed to the design and development of various disposable medical devices tailored for single-use applications, particularly in regulated clinical and surgical environments. These projects often involve:
- Low-cost injection-molded components suitable for high-volume manufacturing
- User-centric designs that simplify setup, operation, and disposal
- Steerable and multi lumen catheter designs for a variety of indications for use
- Integration of sensors or fluid pathways for diagnostic or therapeutic applications
- Rapid prototyping and testing to refine function and usability
Our role typically spans from early concept generation through prototyping and Design for Manufacturing (DFM), supporting our clients through clinical trials or transfer to volume production.
Custom Equipment Design and Build Projects
NEB has extensive experience designing and building custom electromechanical and test systems tailored to the needs of medical device and diagnostics companies. These projects span automation, testing, vision systems, and laboratory tools, often developed in collaboration with clients during early product evaluation or as part of design verification and manufacturing readiness.
Product Design Projects
At NEB, we specialize in the design and development of innovative medical devices, from concept through production. Our team delivers tailored solutions across a wide range of clinical domains, guided by user needs, regulatory awareness, and design-for-manufacture best practices. Leveraging our ISO 13485-certified, 7-phase development process, we support clients from early-stage concepting to verification, pilot manufacturing, and beyond.
Verification & Validation (V&V) Testing Projects
At NEB, Verification and Validation (V&V) testing is a core part of our comprehensive product development process. We design and execute V&V activities that ensure medical devices meet design inputs, function safely and effectively, and are ready for regulatory submission, pilot production, and clinical use.
We apply a structured, risk-based approach to verification and validation in accordance with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820. Our V&V activities are seamlessly integrated into our 7-phase development framework, ensuring continuity from design through commercialization.
Warehousing & Distribution Projects
NEB has supported several medical device programs requiring end-to-end logistics planning, including warehousing, distribution coordination, and inventory management. Our experience includes:
- Packaging, labeling, and kitting of prototype and pilot-run devices.
- Short- and long-term storage of serialized and non-serialized medical products in secure, access-controlled environments.
- Coordination of outbound shipments to clinical sites, contract manufacturers, or evaluation partners, including temperature-sensitive handling and traceable delivery.
- Support for lot tracking, batch release documentation, and labeling control, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality system requirements.
These activities are typically integrated as part of our Launch/Pilot Manufacture and Production phases, allowing clients to scale from early development into distribution while maintaining control and visibility across their supply chain.
